Put some pictures up on picasa

I discovered that picasa seems to do a good job for posting pictures online. So I ... posted some pictures online ...
Other than that, Dana decided, I need some gear, I actually bought a four-pack of that Austrian drink, and I'll be enjoying some Spank Rock.

Enough about the floor.

Just for completeness, the floor is in. Well except for the moldings... But enough about the floor!!
I've been looking for direction. My car doesn't seem to have problems with that.

The wood is here. It's a matter of time now.

Coming soon to Il Teatro

On Monday, July 3rd we will be showing Delicatessen by Marc Caro (City of Lost Children) and Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie). It's one of the Teatro's favorite movies.

Wordy

After two nights in a row of "more sensible" Chilaquiles consumption, I have built up enough motivation to upload some verbose updates.
*We are slowly trying to get used to the ever shifting familial structure.
*Apparently there is a post-flipsterâ„¢ movement (pflipster?), but I'm not sure what it involves.
*The recent ultra consumerism includes a 400 sq ft hardwood floor.
*We have a very important birthday coming up.
*The Azzurri are advancing.
*"Do you have any Miller Lite?"
*Where do hipsters dance? (In the process of being resolved.)

Did I just do that?

Through friendly coersion, I eventually clicked on the "Buy" button... It's 5-7 business days until the opening of Il Teatro.

Siesta

Brunch with the familia before heading to le Skylark where, once again, the small village nature of Chicago came through. Something about set theory...

To recap.

The place is still in semi-limbo. Soul night is still the bomb. Chilaquiles are still the bomb. The movement is still the bomb. Boxers are the new bomb.

Signed.

It's looking more and more like I will actually own the place.

Offered.

Cha-ching! Well, for them. But, in truth, for me too.

Multi-culti

There was Mapo Tofu etc. at Lao Szechuan and Samosa Chat etc. at Sukhadia's. And pancake disaster in the middle.

Lincoln Park is fun???

It's hard to believe, I know, but I've found a nice, friendly, neighborhood bar that is fun. In Lincoln Park, land of the trixie.

The oceans' fish populations have decreased

I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to have all you can eat sushi that requires you to finish all that you order or you have to pay for the remaining pieces. I mean I know it's a good business idea, but it's not good for the consumer, which is what I was yesterday along with Banchan, Anna, Toni and Dimitri.
Then we found out that the average age at Jimmy's on a Thursday is roughly 21...

Looking beyond urban decadence

What was thought to be akin to sticking a hot poker in my eye, turned out to be a pleasant time with B and B right under M's apartment. N~i~ce weather. Giogio is using the power adapter as a pillow...

Looking beyond urban decay

Banchan, Anna and I went to the New Apartment Lounge to see Von Freeman et al. play some jazz. Once again affirming that Chicago is simply a small village that looks like a big city, we saw the UofC Economics department and friends.

Capitalist pig

Here are some of the clothes that I bought today in Wicker Park. Everything was cheaper than advertised but I suppose at some point one must stop buying... It was an experiment in interweaving iconic (hoodie, cord sports coat) and non (two pairs of pants and an orange zip up jumper) clothes.
The BBQ seitan burrito we (sarah and meg) ate at Earwax was pretty good, as was the peanut stew (but not like Coop James's).

My talk ended.

Hey so I haven't been fired yet, which is good. I had to adlib my talk because, despite having extensive notes that I was going to rely heavily on, the notes didn't show up. So how about that.

In the beginning there was...

Hola Lau. Now I can post comments to your blogcito...
